Earlier this month, House to Home Solutions President Daniel Carrero participated in his semi-annual Remodeler’s Advantage (RA) Roundtable of 2023. A unique peer advisory program, each Roundtable explores a case study that focuses on one of the remodeling companies represented in the group.
This spring, the 13 Roundtable members from Daniel’s group (pictured above middle right) convened in St. Paul, MN, where they visited Ben Quie & Sons, a remodeling contractor that specializes in bringing together the charm of vintage homes with the function of modern conveniences.
A tour of the business by participants included a site visit to a new building, a study of the architect’s plans, and a close-up look at a recently completed renovation project (pictured above middle left). Roundtable participants also had an opportunity to interview each of the company’s main employees.
The Roundtable also gave each participant time to discuss their business within the setting of non-competing companies and obtain feedback aimed to help strengthen their businesses (pictured above bottom).
In addition to the case study and round-robin discussion, Roundtable participants also considered some “parking lot” issues. Of note was the discussion around Chat GPT and how it’s predicted that it might replace 300 million jobs around the world. Some members shared examples of what they have been able to accomplish using the new AI tool.
Participation in the RA Roundtables is a major asset in helping members grow and maintain resilience in their respective remodeling businesses. Members walk away with new knowledge, insights from peers, and most importantly best practices that ultimately deliver additional value to their clients and help to improve the remodeling industry.
