When this Bethesda homeowner moved from North Carolina to be closer to her daughter and newborn grandchild, she wanted a home that fit this exciting new chapter of life. After House to Home Solutions completed initial kitchen and bathroom remodels, it became clear that the home’s multiple staircases were becoming a daily challenge—especially while helping care for the baby.
Rather than compromising on style or forcing a move, we designed an aging-in-place solution tailored to her lifestyle. We integrated a compact PVE Cube residential elevator directly into her existing two-story living room, turning a structural accessibility upgrade into a striking architectural feature.

Design & Architectural Impact
Accessibility doesn't have to feel institutional. By utilizing the PVE Cube’s self-supporting frame (requiring just a compact 38" × 38" floor penetration rather than a traditional elevator shaft or pit), we preserved the home's open sightlines. The sleek black frame and transparent enclosure intentionally complement the high-ceilinged living area, demonstrating that universal design and luxury aesthetics can coexist seamlessly.
